Amazing Pollinators
Tuesday, June 26 @ 1:00 PM
Pollinators, the unsung heroes of the plant community, are so important that the US Senate has declared the week of June 24-30, 2007 National Pollinator Week. Who are they, what role do they play, and what is their history? Many of us think of bees and butterflies, but that is just the beginning. Native bees, wasps, butterflies and moths and even beetles and other little creatures perform an invaluable service for plants and for us; their pollination services ensure that there will be flowers and fruits. This presentation is illustrated with magnificent photography of flowers and pollinators by biologist and photographer Beatriz Moisset.
